Normal week: your usual day, Monday through Thursday.

Gray lid week
Recycling: bottles, cans, jugs & jars.
How it works
- Trash is collected once a week, in the town's orange SMART bags (the "Save Money And Reduce Trash" program). Your base fee covers unlimited curbside pickup of trash in those bags and of recycling.
- Recycling alternates. One week it's the black-lid cart (paper and cardboard); the next it's the gray-lid cart (bottles, cans, jugs and jars). The two never go out the same week.
- Collection days are Monday to Thursday. Your day depends on your street; it doesn't change except in a holiday week.
- Holiday weeks: no pickup on the holiday, and every day after it that week moves one day later, so a Thursday route is collected Friday.
- Yard waste is collected curbside in spring and fall for SMART customers; brush and leaves can also go to the drop-off area at the transfer station.
